The Green Spark
Sparking environmental allostasis, one partnership at a time
Meet The Founder
Carter Considine founded The Green Spark to confront climate change and environmental justice. He launched initiatives like Recycling Now, which repurposes single-use polypropylene masks into owl boxes. In 2023, the EPA honored his project Smart Recycling with an Honorable Mention.
He created a documentary on water remediation for Spirit Lake, Iowa, and partnered with All Good Living and Oakland schools to provide an atmospheric water generator for students affected by corrosion in the lead pipes. Carter also volunteers at the San Francisco Mexican Museum and the Rosie the Riveter WWII Homefront National Park. As California's youngest city council art board member, he promotes youth art online and co-founded Meaningful Teens to support children's literacy. He believes in collective action, emphasizing a “we, not me” approach.
