About
Carter Considine founded The Green Spark as an umbrella organization for his initiatives promoting environmental justice. Carter started Recycling Now, which recycled polypropylene single-use masks and turned them into repurposed material for building owl boxes deployed in numerous locales, including Gallo vineyards in Modesto. Smart Recycling was one of three California Honorable Mention recipients of the EPA and White House Council in Environmental Quality Presidential Environmental Award in 2023.
As part of his work with the Clean Water Initiative, Carter created a documentary about water remediation designed to clean Spirit Lake in Iowa, based on a partnership with Kiko Technologies. During filming, he was interviewed on KUOO (103.9 FM) about this environmental work. Carter is partnered with Google and Oakland schools to introduce an atmospheric water generator (AWG) machine that brings clean water to Oakland students.
A lover of art and history, Carter volunteers at the San Francisco Mexican Museum and the National Park Rosie the Riveter WWII Homefront. Carter is California's youngest city council art board member in his hometown of Lafayette, where he promotes youth art through online galleries.
He is also a co-founder of Meaningful Teens, which teaches online literacy to thousands of children nationwide. Carter believes collective action is the key to profound change and requires that we all “lean in.”
