Water
We conserve water through outreach and restoration.
“If the wars of this century were fought over oil, the wars of the next century will be fought over water — unless we change our approach to managing this precious and vital resource.”
Clean water should be a fundamental human right - it is critical for survival. While my generation of teenagers actively supports all forms of social justice to improve this world we will soon inherit, water justice is perhaps the most profound. People are dying because they lack a healthy water supply, while others easily use water for drinking, showering, and gardening around the house….often without a second thought.
Today, we are utilizing new technologies that can scientifically turn sludge water into clear water. We want to broaden the use of this advancement and get it into the hands - and mouths - of the people who need it most.
Clean water is a sacred, natural resource that has increasingly become more scarce, resulting in life-threatening challenges. According to the UN, over two billion people don’t currently have access to safe drinking water. Only .5% of all water on the earth is freshwater and therefore useable for drinking. With the rise of climate change, snowpacks from glaciers are significantly diminished, further reducing the flow of available water in geographical areas that are currently warming. This lack of water, combined with population growth and climate change, will put pressure on the food supply and impact humanity in yet another dramatic way.
Access to clean water is a fundamental human right that cannot be negotiated or ignored. As the lack of clean water impacts a larger percentage of the world’s population in a devastating way, it’s clear that immediate action is required to save lives. That work must include a multi-approach strategy: implementing important preservation methods, cultivating new technologies to purify unclean water, and deploying new methods to bring water to those in great need. By attacking the problem from these perspectives, we can ensure that no human is denied their fundamental right to clean water.
Oakland Unified School District Finds Toxic Lead in School Water - we provide schools with a filtered atmospheric water generator so they have safe water alternative
Helping McClymonds High School, Oakland Unified School District
McClymonds High School in West Oakland could not get enough safe water for its students. We worked with community advocates to bring an AWG to the school and get their students safe drinking water.
We also teach the donated technology in the Oakland grades 6-12 classrooms
The Green Spark installed gravity-fed water filter systems that filter out 200 contaminants, chemicals, and bacteria, including lead and microplastics, to five Oakland schools to help further, as the district’s Flowater dispensers typically are broken and need filter changes.
Giving clean water to Madison Park Academy and Markham Elementary School, Oakland Unified School District
Raising Funds for Clean Water Solutions
Alarming lead levels have been detected in the drinking water of Oakland Unified School District’s schools, posing a severe health risk to students and staff. Even low levels of lead exposure can cause irreversible damage, particularly to children's brain development, kidneys, and nervous system. The immediate need for clean and safe drinking water cannot be overstated.
To further support our efforts, we have been actively raising funds through our partner, All Good Living Foundation, to purchase AWG machines.
Together, we can ensure that every affected child in the OUSD has access to clean, safe drinking water.
Let's keep the momentum going and continue to support our community's future—one sip at a time.
With Jim Osugi, Founder of Kiko Technologies
I was lucky to meet aerospace engineer Jim Osugi, who worked on the second-stage propulsion system of five NASA Apollo Space missions to the moon. Jim has an extensive background in water physics and chemistry, climate change, and energy flow. Jim has patents in cryogenic hydrogen and oxygen for rocket propulsion. This science has been applied to aid water remediation-linked problems, including blue-green algae and invasive zebra mussels.
Where We Have Been
Spirit Lake, Iowa
Water remediation with Kiko:
We traveled to Spirit Lake, Iowa, to analyze the results of nonchemical treatments to clear blue-green algae from various points along Spirit Lake, which was polluted by fertilizers from nearby corn and soybean fields. We took a team of students to see the results and talk to the University of Iowa’s Lakeside Laboratory water monitor experts, government officials, and the general public to see the transformations in the lake.
The Value of Water
This documentary highlights the residents of Spirit Lake, Iowa and educates viewers on the area’s vast research on cleaning freshwater lakes naturally.
The Value of Water will be screened at Google in partnership with Google’s Sustainability Team on Earth Day
Spirit Lake, Iowa, Fish Hatchery Control Versus Treatment with Kiko
It is astonishing to see the first-hand difference between a control and Kiko-treated water at a fish hatchery site in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

Bishop Ranch, San Ramon Water Remediation
Bishop Ranch in San Ramon, CA, has two large ponds. We worked with Sunset Development and Solitude Water Cleaning to employ Kiko in the water treatment to remove impurities and floating algae from the water naturally.
